Owasso Fishing Team
A competitive bass fishing team for Owasso Public Schools students in grades 6–12, fishing the Oklahoma High School Fishing trail.
Who we are
Owasso Fishing was created in 2022 by Reggie and Andy Anderson out of their family's love for fishing, the outdoors, and time together on the water. They wanted to bring that same passion to the Owasso community by creating a place where young anglers could connect with others who share their interest.
We're a nonprofit program run entirely by volunteers. Tournament teams are two student anglers with an adult boat captain, and we compete against schools from across the state on the Oklahoma High School Fishing (OKHSF) trail. At least one angler on each team should be enrolled in Owasso Public Schools.
High school anglers (grades 9–12) fish the High School Division. Our middle schoolers (grades 6–8) fish the Junior Division, and the rules allow one 7th or 8th grader to fish on a high school team, so siblings and friends can fish together.
Whether a student is new to bass fishing or already has tournament experience, the goal is the same: help every angler grow in skill, confidence, sportsmanship, and knowledge of competitive fishing.

Aerated livewells, careful handling, and every fish released healthy after the scale.
Family
Parents captain boats, run weigh-ins, and drive the trailers. This team doesn't work without them.
Coaches & captains
The people behind the boats
Our coaches are volunteers. Boat captains (19+) provide the boat, drive, keep the team safe, and coach from the back deck — but never touch a rod during competition. “More than a team — a family.”
