OKHSF Kayak Division
No boat? No problem.
OKHSF runs a kayak trail on the same lakes, same dates as the boat tournaments. Solo anglers, length-based scoring, and a much lower cost of entry.
How it works
Catch. Photograph. Release.
Scored by length
Your five longest bass, measured to the nearest ¼ inch on a measuring board. No livewell, no weigh-in line.
TourneyX app
Photograph each fish on the board with your tournament identifier and submit through the free TourneyX app. Officials verify.
Safety gear
USCG-approved PFD worn on top of clothing (inflatable belts are OK), plus a whistle. Paddle, pedal, or electric motor only.
Adult captain
One adult (18+) per two anglers, in a tandem kayak, canoe, or chase boat. They can measure and net but never fish.
Getting started
What you need
- A kayak (sit-on-top fishing kayaks are ideal; inflatables and canoes are allowed). Borrow one for your first event — ask a coach.
- PFD, whistle, and a bump board measuring board (Ketch or Hawg Trough are the standards).
- Both an OKHSF membership and a free TourneyX account, created before the first tournament.
- Kayak Division release form signed by a parent/guardian.
- Same registration deadline as the boat trail: 11 PM the Thursday before.

Kayak schedule
The kayak division fishes the Northern Trail on the same dates as the boat tournaments — Hudson, Grand, Eufaula, Tenkiller — plus the State and OKHSF Championships. Check the main schedule for dates; kayak launch and lines-out times come in the OKHSF confirmation email.
